July 2010 was one of the busiest months of our Careers! Hence we are behind in blogging. We are busy editing, designing and compiling for our clients. Without further ado here is our next July Wedding Blog. Nisha and Smit’s day was held at the Townsend. Their day started with a loud Baraat (Yes so loud that it woke up Gerard Butler) . Next we followed up with a moving ceremony and probably one of the most fun Receptions we have ever attended!!!

[E] Shivni + Shalin: ENGAGED!
A few weeks back we drove down to Sandusky to hang out Shivni and Shalin. We were so elated to do a vineyard shoot.. The lush landscape and warm sunlight were just perfect. The couple needless to say were so fun, dinner after the shoot was a blast (Shalin you truly are my husbands brother from another mother). Following the vineyard we went to Sandusky Beach where Shalin proposed to Shivni last year. The next day we headed to Cedar Point for a few theme park shots… ENJOY the sneak peek below
[W] – Sheila + Sumit MARRIED!
Last Month was the busiest Month for our Studio. But it was a Month of Spectacular events and amazing clients. Sheila and Sumit’s weekend started with Puja and Mehndi at the brides home. It was intimate affair filled with laughter and good times. The Sangeet and Wedding were just breathtaking. Beautiful, Pinks, Blues and Amber filled the room. The events took place at the Henry and Dearborn Inn!
We had such an amazing time being their historians. Sheila and I became close friends throughout the day and were chatting like we knew each other for years. She is very special to me! Sumit is warm, kind and has an awesome heart! These two are perfect for each other. Enjoy a peek into their day
[E] – Jason and Rachael ENGAGED!
A couple weeks back we flew down to Chicago to meet Jason and Rachael…. And Im so glad we did! Not only did we get some AMAZING images. But we got to know this funny, dynamic couple better. Aali, myself, Rachael and Jason walked around talking and laughing for hours. We are really excited about their October Wedding and Pine Knob!

[W] Swasti and Mihir – MARRIED
Yo Yo Yo, your favorite (and sexiest) Michigan Wedding Photographer was at is again .. this time, at the wedding of the effervescent Swasti, and the debonair Mihir Apte at the Eagle’s Crest Marriott Resort. We had an absolute blast that day – starting with a bumpin’ baarat, wedding ceremony by a clergyman (or was he a worshipper?), rolling around in the grass with these two peas, tossing (a very willing) Swasti onto the bar, infront of several patrons, and then shooting her (yes, with a camera), followed by doing my version of a ’shaken, not stirred’ with Mihir. What a fun day, and an amazing couple. We are so looking forward to hangin’ out each time these two are in Mi, or we are in NYC. Yes, Sigh! – You can’t escape us .. its your fault for being so fun.

[W] – NAUSHEEN AND MATT – MARRIED!!!
Last Month we shot Nausheen and Matt’s MGM Grand Wedding. What an AWESOME weekend. We had a wonderful time shooting this beautiful event. Nausheen and I became like girlfriends on the day of (my favorite part of wedding photography). Below you will find featured some of my favorite moments of the day. The most touching moment was when Nausheen’s Mother sang, and it brought the bride to tears. What an awesome moment. Thats why we do what we do. To immortalize amazing and touching moments. [E] – Michigan Wedding Photographer – Sapna + Hiren ENGAGED!
It was the day after two huge weddings when we photographed Sapna and Hiren. Just hanging out with these two for a couple of hours gave us new inspiration and a new found friendship. We laughed throughout the shoot and an AMAZING time. I cannot WAIT till their wedding in the upcoming week!!! They are obviously very much in love and really excited about this next chapter in their lives..

There are some weddings that really touch us. This was one such event. These two are very special to us. Sapna and Cian came into the studio as our clients but left as life long friends. These two are kind-hearted, humble and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun to be around. We could laugh with this couple for hours.

On the same day as Amy and Viven Shoot we quickly shot up to Grosse Isle to Deepthi’s Parents Beautiful home on Lake Erie. There we photographed Deepthi and Raj’s Engagement Ceremony. Thier families were AMAZING to work for. Both the Bride and Groom to be and their family were super excited about their memories. It was a hot and wet day both extreme heat and rain, but it did not sour the mood of the day. On the contrary, everyone had an OUTSTANDING time. It was also my husbands Birthday…. He was such an awesome sport, he said there is nothing he’d rather be doing than be behind the glass. WE LOVE OUR JOB!!!

This past winter we met Jason and Sara for a bridal session. It was a cold afternoon but they sucked it up for an AWESOME shoot… Loved walking around one of our favorite locales DT Royal Oak. We were so happy how this shoot came out we actually used one of the images in Studio on a 4ft by 6 ft piece…

The DIA. This beautiful, classic and artful locale was the scene of our latest shoot. We met Shelia and Sumit there to capture a few moments to showcase at their engagement party. We were in total AWE of the AMAZING lighting. We will definitely shoot here again! Shelia and Sumit were such great company, we are super excited for their July Nuptials!

Last Month we photographed the first wedding of 2010. Melissa, Matt and their families joined together to celebrate their love the day after New Years. What an awesome start to the year! [W] Rati + Amit – Destination Wedding Photographer
3 Weeks ago we traveled to the Mayan Rivera, Mexico to photograph Rati and Amit’s wedding at the Moon Grand Palace. Words cannot describe how beautiful the wedding and ambience was. The weather was just perfect! Not too hot not too cold. The weekends festivities started with a welcome dinner/thanksgiving dinner Thursday night. Family and friends gathered for good food, drinks and an awesome Mariachi band.
Night number two was the Sangeet. What a beautiful and colorful event that was. On the agenda for the evening: traditional Indian dances, an awesome Flamenco performed by Amit’s sister, and an amazing serenade by Amit for his bride .
The weekend concluded with the wedding on Saturday. The wedding was an elegant intimate affair attended by Rati and Amit’s closest family and friends. It was a day of laughter, joy and some bitter-sweet tears.

Michigan Wedding Photographer [W] – DOTTIE + RICK
Several weeks back we had the pleasure of shooting Dottie and Ricks wedding. They are an amazing duo! Their entire family and friends were such a pleasure to be around. The love was felt everywhere!!! The wedding was held at the Inn at St. John’s. As to be expected with Dottie being in the hospitality/event field, the wedding was done with impecable taste.
We were honored to witness this special event. Thank you for allowing us to capture the magic in your day.
Detroit Wedding Photographer [W] – Julia and Jeff
What started as very rainy day turned into one of the most breathtaking afternoon and evenings ever. This is Julia and Jeff’s day. Talk about awesome. The ceremony was held at an old downtown Catholic Church. (It was something you expected to see in Europe… it was that gorgeous). I knew the sun had finally come out in the middle of the ceremony. You could see the glow on all the beautiful stained glass.
When Julia walked down the aisle she took the breath away of her family, friends and most importantly her groom. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
These two are an amazing couple with an amazing sense of style. Their reception reflected that. Enjoy their fantastic day in the moments below!
[W] – Vikram + Akhila
Five River Chicago and Detroit teamed up to photograph a fantastic couple at the Hyatt in Wisconson. This was our other Labor Day weekend wedding. We have worked with Akhila and Vikram before at their engagement ceremony. It was awesome to work with them again.
The weekend started with a fun sangeet at the brides mothers home, followed by an awesome ceremony and reception the next day. We had an amazing time hanging out with Sasi and Vaishya families again. Always very kind and welcoming.

Last weekend saw us meet some of the nicest people we’ve ever had the pleasure to shoot. Aasma and I loved spending time with the Kantemneni & Sundblad families in Iowa City! Both families are the epitome of warmth and kindness, and made what we had to do seem effortless. Thanks for inviting us to document your day Lakshmi & Matt! We look forward to a long friendship with you!

[W] – Loveleen + Steve
Labor Day weekend was one busy weekend. One of the weddings we shot were Loveleen and Steve’s. The day was GORGEOUS. Started out with a misty fog but soon cleared up and was breathtaking. The Baarat was lively and fun, Ceremonies beautiful and emotional, and then the awesome reception. Never have I seen a bride so down to earth and relaxed on her wedding day. Its the one day its totally acceptable to be on edge, but not Loveleen. So relaxed, and go with the flow.
Loveleen and Steve’s day started with a Christian ceremony followed by an outfit change for the Hindu cermeony and concluded with a final dress change for the reception. Their families were AWESOME to work with. I had a particular fondness for Loveleen’s father. Super nice AND the total life of the Party!!!
Loveleen and Steve, Thank you for making us feel so welcome at your wedding. You guys were so willing to do anything and I thank you for that!

[W] – Palak and Rudhir
To be perfectly honest I have no idea where to start. This had to be the most moving wedding we have attended ever. Not that all weddings that we shoot arent beautiful, elegant and emotional but, this one in particular blew our minds. First I have to say Palak and Rudhir are so down to earth and the have some AMAZING family and friends. Below is a snapshot of their day. But to be frank it was hard to get all the amazing moments in one blog so I’ve narrowed to down to my favorites.
The weekend started with the Mehndi followed by the Sangeet. Oh and the dances were seriously insane. Their friends must love them a lot. We could not stop talking about how much effort everyone put in to this event. It was needless to say OUTSTANDING!!! Palak and Rudhir even performed. See below! The wedding followed the next day. I cry at every wedding (yes Im a sap) but I cried a lot at this one. HA! It was just so moving to see two people so in love and have so many people in their lives that care for them. Its truly a blessing and it moved me. (I may have shed a tear or two for being on my feet for three days but, it was well worth it. LOL)

Several weeks back we photographed a beautiful wedding. Kayla and Peter were married in Hartland, Mi at Waldenwoods, right on the water. Kayla and Peter both looked spectacular! Oh and their families and bridal party were so much fun to be around.
Kayla and Peter, you are an amazing couple. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your magical day. The honor was truly ours.
[W] – Romana + Matt
Hello folks us again. At the beginning of August we shot Romana and Matt’s beautiful MGM Grand Detroit wedding. What a gorgeous couple. Yet another couple that we became fast friends with. Romana and Matt live in Chicago and came home to Michigan to host their nuptials. They both looked outstanding. One of my absolute favorite moments captured below is right after the first kiss they both shared a close moment (moment captured by Aali, its the antique brown one ) The families were just as fantastic to work with on both the Asif and Conner side. I particularly loved the grandfathers (Romana’s and Matt’s respectively). Both of their toasts/speeches moved me. They share a ton of love for their grandkids and it showed!

[W] Shreya + Rishi
We photographed this fabulous couple last weekend. These two are so down to earth so fun and so much like us. We knew the minute we met these two that they love to have fun and they would be a perfect fit with our studio. Fun is our middle name here at Five Riv!!!
The wedding was held at Shenandoah Country Club and the Day was organized once again by the fab Rajul and Daphne of Blissful Events. After the most wonderful ceremony (and I mean it, it was awesome!!!) we went to our favorite locale DT Birmingham for some portraits. Followed by another onsite portrait session in their evening attire. I have to say Shreya looked STUNNING! She wore a peacock colored dress with indian bead work. It was Sexy and Modern!!! I know I say this a lot but seriously we have the most Beautiful Brides!!! And Rishi was a handsome devil as always. Rish I swear you werent an afterthought ;o)
[W] Nitin + Sukhi
A couple weeks back Daku Nitin Singh, a known accomplice of the famous dacoit Daku Don Singh was sighted at a wedding in Troy, Mi. Enclosed below is photographic evidence of him abducting the bride in true bollywood fashion. The abductee bride was rumored to have screamed ‘BACHAO, BACHAAAO’ – No other SHOLAY cast members were sighted

Two weeks back we had the pleasure of shooting Nitin and Sukhi’s wedding at the Troy Marriot. Nitin and Sukhi came in as clients but they fast captured our hearts and became our close friends. We’ve all shared many nights of fun and laughter. We were truly honored to be a part of their day. Their wedding was amazing! Went off without a hitch. This is our second wedding with the Bilkhu Family and once again what an amazing experience.
The Wedding Day was coordinated by our good friends Rajul and Daphne of Blissful Events.
