[E] SWASTI + MIHIR – Michigan Wedding Photographer

Swasti and Mihir are one of those couples that remind you why we do what we do..  I haven’t had this much fun shooting in forever.  What was supposed to be an awesome weekend in terms of weather turned into the remnants of a hurricane in NYC.   This however this did not stop or sour the mood what so ever!  We started with the first two shots of the day Saturday evening.  This was followed by a down pour which led to a bar which led to good times which led to an AMAZING night shoot.  The evening concluded with being treated to the best Thai food I have had EVER!    We continued the next morning and overall got some amazing art out of it!

Swasti and Mihir thank you for an unforgettable weekend.  Ill be in NYC again this winter can’t wait to see you guys again

Michigan Wedding Photographer – [E] MELISSA + MATT

Several weeks back I photographed Melissa and Matt at Yates Cider Mill and Meadowbrook.  Holy Moly, what a GORGEOUS morning it was.  The light and colors were just simply perfect!

 I’ve known Melissa since my advertising days at Doner.  I was super excited that she considered us for her wedding.   When you have a personal relationship with the bride and/or groom it makes the experience that much more fun.  Melissa I love but, Matt what a riot!!!  He is truly a gem.  I need to take him all my shoots to get everyone to loosen up and laugh!

Recently, we had the pleasure to spend a day with some of our favorite people in Chi-town, the beautiful Rachel and her beau, the man on whose shoulders this city rests, Mr Norm Doucet!

[E] Keran + Raveen

This blog is for my BIFF (Best Indian Friend Forever), Keran (Aali’s pet munky). Keran and Raveen are one of our closest and dearest friends. It all started December 2007 at needless to say an interesting triple date at Sangria. Kiran, Raj, myself and Aali decided to play match maker and set up Kiran’s brother and my very very good friend Keran up. We all thought they would hit it off. Well by the end of the night we thought it was a total bust and we figured eh, nice try though. Three days later I get a call from Keran saying she had an amazing time and turns out she really really liked Raveen. Raveen too, had been bitten (pun intended for Raveen get it: bitten hahahhaha) by Keran’s charm (not to mention shes smokin hot!). The rest is history.

Keran and Raveen, all I can say these two are a perfect match. We both absolutely adore them and the Rai-Kullar families. Their families have treated us like one of their own and we have always appreciated that.

[E] Nourim + Mateen

We had the pleasure of meeting Nourim and Mateen in Port Huron. We love that michigan has some of the best lakes in world. It was beautiful morning on Lake Huron. We spent a little time on the lake and then went into the DT area of Port Huron for a few urban shots. I always say we can seriously shoot anywhere as long as our clients are good sports. And Mateen and Norium defintely were!! We wish them many years of happiness. They both ROCK!

[E] – Julia + Jeff – New York City

Julia and Jeff were my other NYC client. They live in MI and got engaged in NYC. We had wonderful time photographing this couple for two days. We hit Central Park, Upper West Side, The Plaza, Times Square, Grand Central Station, even the Subway. We laughed talked and got know one another very well. I have to say we are super excited to be photographing this couples wedding in October. Julia and Jeff you rock!

[E] Rati + Amit – New York City

Last week I flew to New York to do a couple of e-session. Rati and Amit were my Wednesday session. We headed to Brooklyn via the F-train and photographed their session in DUMBO. It was perfect with a blend of Manhattan sky line for some classic portraits and the distressed urban look for some edgier shots. In true New York fashion we even ran right into a film set were they were filming a pilot to a new show. So we thought why not, if we can’t move we should take advantage of the cool lighting in the night sky.

Rati and Amit will be married this Novemeber in Mexico. We are excited to part of the day of this amazing and kind couple. Check out peeks below.

[W] Sheetal + Hemanth

All I have to say is WOW!!  What a spectacular day for an even more spectacular couple.  I could gush all day about this wonderful couple.  But instead of words I’ll do it with photos.   The weekend was full of love, life and color!  Sheetal and Hemanth looked breathtaking!   These clients became our fast friends on the wedding day.    The event was held at the New MGM Grand Detroit and was coordinated by Blissful Events by Rajul and Daphne.    Take a peek at Sheetal Hemanth’s story below.

Next we move to the gorgeous wedding ceremony.  My favorite shot is the one where the 4 parents and the bride and groom all have there hand together.  BEAUTIFUL!

Now the Reception Begins!!!  So many wonderful moments hard to pick my favs.  But from this sequence my favs have to be Father dancing with Sons.  And Mother Dancing with Daughters!

[E] – Sheetal + Hemanth

Yesterday Aali and I had the pleasure of hanging out with one of our wedding couples for an engagement session.  It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon with a beautiful couple in Birmingham.  We had an amazing shoot with a mix of urban chic, fashion and romance.   Sheetal was an absolute stunner and Hemanth a total deboniar.  This fashionable couple will be getting hitched next weekend at the new MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.  We cant wait!!  Check out a peek from their e-session below!

[E] – Palak + Rudhir

So what started out as a beautiful sunny afternoon, turned into a rainy, cold evening this past Friday.   With that said Palak and Rudhir were awesome sports about the weather.  Palak and Rudhir went to college at UM Ann Arbor and have wonderful memories of their experience there.  We had a fantastic shoot with this saavy and chic couple.   Also, anyone who knows this couple knows their obession with Squabble.  I hadn’t heard of the game, but I could totally see why its so addictive.  (See a couple Squabble pix below)

[E] – Rafid + Katia

Rafid and Katia have one of the most romantic stories we’ve ever heard. He was working in Italy, and had biked to the tiny town of Mattarello to see a beautiful church he had heard of. On his way back, a fateful tire puncture stranded him near Katia’s home, where he was found by Katia’s father, who ofcourse, spoke no english. Rafid’s italian was passable in Brooklyn, but didn’t fly in Trento. Her father decided to help him repair his bike anyway, taking him to his home. He called Katia down to help translate, which she did in broken english… but love it seems, has a language of its own. A cup of coffee and a cheese sandwich later, it was all over for both of them.

Its such a pleasure taking pictures of fellow photographers… mainly because we’re always behind the lens! Rafid (who also goes by Robert) is a talented photographer in his own right, whose recent work in Mali has been published in a book (The Free Spirited People Of Mali). [E] Vikram + Akhila

Last weekend 4/11/09 we had the pleasure of photographing Vikram and Akhila’s engagement ceremony.  What an absolutely lovely day and even more lovely family!   Its a delight to see such an amazing bond between family and friends as we witnessed at the Vaishya Residence.   The ceremony (Pooja) was both moving and graceful.  The couple who are absolutely crazy about each other, were so fun to be around.  Vikram’s face when he saw Akhila in that beautiful blue sari for the first time was priceless.  Below is a sneak peek from that lovely afternoon.

[E] Josh + Shanna

We awaited a gorgeous couple with whom we had been exchanging emails for about 4 weeks to decide which date would work with their crazy schedules. One is in med school, the other is an architect. You decide who is which.

Shortly after 8.00am, a black Tahoe pulls around and in it are Josh+Shanna .. Josh is all giddy about impersonating a crombie model for the next 2 hours or so, but Shanna, although geeked about the engagement shoot, is more focussed on keeping warm .. I couldn’t blame the poor girl .. after all, it was a very frigid 38 degrees. Fast forward 15 minutes, and neither cares about the weather. Both are thrilled about enjoying the picturesque surroundings in each other’s company .. enclosed below are some sneak peeks of the morning.

I first met Jared whilst shooting Beth + Bertrand’s wedding in France. Jared, this veritable goofball spent his entire time making silly faces at me… needless to say, he and I instantly got along. He had amazing stories to share about his recent stay in Africa and he had quite the excellent sense of humor and wit (Especially after a couple glasses of wine). Laine and I, on the other hand, met many moons ago through my very good friend Beth. Laine and Jared are an amazing couple. High School sweethearts! By just looking at them you can feel the love between them.

[E] Joe + Rachelle

10/15/2007 – 8.00am/Meadowbrook Hall - With a date and time finally set to get together and shoot. It was time to photograph Joe and Rachelle’s engagment. We agreed to meet at 8.00a at Meadowbrook. The clocked ticked, and it was 8.20a, and Joe an Rachelle were not to be seen. Just as I was thinking that I had been stood up (punks !), I got a call from Joe saying that they got lost on the Oakland University Campus. So, after giving them directions, I met them at the hall.

So, I spent about 5 mins or so, explaining to them that the objective of the shoot was to allow Joe and Rachelle to walk around and be romantic, and that there would be lots of making out….. I was hardly done speaking, and Joe, .. not to be told twice, went to town on Rachelle …

[E] Raj+Kiran

10/28/2007 – 9.00am/Cranbrook Mansion - With the wedding in April/08, this sunday was probably the last nice day of the year for an engagement shoot. Talk about livin’ it on the edge .. Raj/Kiran, our Punjabi Couple are definitely the type to live it up on the ‘Chak de Phattay’ side of life. When Raj and Kiran are not dancing to imaginary music in their head,… Raj works in the advertising industry, and Kiran consults in education.

On this day in question however, Raj, dressed in HugoBOSS, and Kiran, in Indian Couture represented Bollywood instead of their respective industries. We decided that this would make for the perfect opportunity to photograph this Jatt and Jattni whilst they canoodled on the picturesque grounds of cranbrook. Enclosed below is a sneak peek of the morning … we hope you enjoy these as much as we did making them !. How much do they love each other , you ask?
